David Jacobson (born Los Angeles, CA) is an award-winning writer, director, editor and producer of fiction features, documentaries, and science TV-series. His films have been featured at over 25 international film festivals, including Cannes, Berlin, and Toronto, and released theatrically, on VOD and home video. His collaborations with highly regarded talent include Jeremy Renner, Edward Norton, Evan Rachel Wood, Ellen Burstyn, Bruce Dern, Stephen Dorff, Michelle Monaghan, Paul Giamatti and Willem Dafoe.

After graduating summa cum laude in Medieval History from UC Berkeley, he earned an MFA in documentary film history/ film production at Temple University as a Russell Conwell Fellow. His debut feature, Criminal, world premiered at the 1994 Berlinale. He is an alumnus of the Sundance Institute’s Screenwriters Lab (for Down in the Valley, an official selection of Un Certain Regard, 2005 Cannes) and the recipient of three Independent Spirit Award nominations for the film Dahmer.
